To those who think I don't 'do' anything

While it may seem to you that I don't do enough;
That I don't have a 'proper' job,
Or that I'm not 'working' hard enough:
Be assured that I am working.
.
.
.
I'm working to untangle the webs that bind my heart,
The beliefs that destroy my power,
The thoughts that guard my truth.
I'm working to clean the waters of my being,
To unblock the pipes of my passion,
To clear the rubbish blocking the spring of my soul.
I'm working to let go of the lies I've told myself,
And not tell those lies to others.
I'm working to drop the pain of the past and pick up the blessings of the now.
.
.
.
Sometimes this may be done in a moment,
Sometimes I might be tirelessly chipping away for days, weeks,
Months.
And in that time I am a miner for gold in a cave full of the monsters of nightmares;
Not sure what will be waiting for me around every corner.
When you see me, I may be catching my first breath of air in days.
I may be trying to pull myself back together from the dissolution and destruction of the void
I may be using all I've got just to step out of the door.
.
.
.
You may think me selfish,
To spend all this time on myself,
"In my own world".
But I do it for you.
.
.
.
I do it so I can show up for you; witness you clearly without bringing in my own projections and pain.
I do it so that those who come after me can hold the strengths of our lineage; discovering their own magnitude in the holding of Love.
I do it so that whoever I meet can remember that there's beauty, truth and love in the world, and that they can feel it too.
I do it to leave a footprint in the sands of time,
A ripple in the ocean of eternity,
A legacy of Love.
So that humanity grows and not suffers from my life.
.
.
.
To those who think I'm not 'doing' enough,
Remember:
You can't stand and watch a plant grow,
But every second it gets closer to the sun.
